Receiving Love

It seems like it would be so easy to allow yourself to receive the love of friends and supporters. However I find that I need to ask myself to allow it to penetrate me. Leslie and I  had the most beautiful book signing event at Enchanted Moments. Everyone working in the store was so loving and encouraging and then our friends starting arriving until the store was completely filled with our friends. Strangers  were caught up in the powerful energy that permeated and uplifted the entire store. Leslie and I were blown away by the warm feelings of all who entered that evening.

Still, I needed to encourage myself to truly experience the loving support. I needed to take down any defenses that I had and simply receive the gift of love. It was wonderful and delicious and I am still basking in the joy of it all.

When you are offered love, take it in. Don’t just minimize it or tell yourself that it was not true. Believe it and breathe it in fully. Appreciate the beauty of being loved. And pass it on. All of us need to learn to give and receive love. My experience is that most of us are pretty good at giving it and not as good at receiving it. Just like breathing takes an inbreath and an outbreath, we need to take in love as well as give it out. Thank you to all of you who offered your loving support to Leslie and me. We took it in, we appreciate it and we will pass it on. Thank you so much for the gift.

Having Faith in the Universe’s Abundance

Just when you least expect it, the Universe will show you that you are completely provided for in a spectacular way. This just happened to a dear friend of mine who has been the leader in my group of friends on the idea of abundance. She has taught us all about trusting that things will work out and that money can flow to us.  She used to send off her payment checks with a happy thought to the receiver and gratitude that her bills were easily paid.

As is the way of things these days, the Universe has challenged her financially in the past couple of years and she started to feel distress about money. She started to worry about spending any money and just felt her physical body begin to tighten up. Then just for fun, the Universe sent her an amazing challenge. Her previous home sale fell through and she had to return  to the city she used to live in and get her old house in shape to sell. The people who had been living there, left it in complete disrepair. My friend had to spend almost a month hiring contractors to get her home back in shape to sell, all while being told that she would never be able to sell it for what she originally paid.

All of this stress just pushed her to a breaking point, and suddenly she just handed it over to God. She realized that she was not in control of these events other than her attitude and her prayers. She just let go of the worry about the money and did what needed to be done. Returning to her new home and life, she began to look at all the ways in which this experience had been a blessing of sorts. When she realized she was starting to worry about money again, she consciously relaxed again.

A week after she returned home she received a letter asking her to call the business where her deceased brother had worked. When she called, she found out that she was the sole beneficiary of his IRA. Now, he had died 4 1/2 years ago and she had absolutely no idea about this. Apparently it had taken the company some time to find her since she had moved and married, so had a new name.  Over the course of the phone call she realized to her complete shock, that her brother had left her a small fortune, something she could not have imagined as he had been in a nursing home for the past 25 years of his life. She is still in awe of the way in which the Universe has supported her and provided her with more than she needed and the feeling that she is always supported, never alone.

Choose Your Thoughts

When I have a bad week of negative thinking, I find myself feeling tired and uninspired. That is when I begin to talk directly to my unseen angels and ask for guidance. I am always clear that I need that guidance in english with no metaphors because I can easily miss the guidance if it is not tremendously direct.

Anyway, this week the message I received was to take control of my thinking. I had been allowing the news and current events to influence my thoughts and believe me when I say that is never a good idea. So I began to take responsibility for my thoughts and to focus first on what I was grateful for. That is usually something that I can do no matter how I feel. My gratitude list just kept on coming and I found myself smiling. Then I heard the small voice in my head say, you need to keep bringing your mind back to this list or anything that makes you happy whenever you start down a worried thinking track. I gently, and I really must emphasize gently so that you are not harsh with criticism of yourself as you do this,  began to guide my thoughts back to the positive over and over again. I could hear Esther Hicks saying to reach for the next higher feeling each time. I knew that I was raising my vibration with these new thoughts.  I was feeling rather good by the end of the day and I awoke with a much improved sense of possibility.

This message may sound really basic and predictable but I am asking you to try it when you find yourself losing your sense of humor or feeling really serious about everything. Increase your feeling of inner peace by starting with the easy gratitude list and allow yourself to build on that. Gently guide your thoughts away from the serious stuff, and reach for the next better feeling thought you can find. Have a great day.

Walk In Faith, Not In Sight

Today on the news I heard a young college football player, Steven Rhodes,  talk about his fight to be allowed to play in the NCAA after he had played football while serving in the military. The NCAA initially ruled that he would not be allowed to play college ball because he was issued a uniform while on the military team. Can you even imagine being a young man, serving in the military for five years and coming home ready to enter college, and being told that you will not be able to play college ball? His quote was that it had been really upsetting but he been” walking in faith, not in sight”.

This saying struck me deeply. All of us are facing a world that looks exceptionally frightening and we are being called to walk in faith,  not in sight. Believing that all will be well and that the Divine is orchestrating what is happening for our highest good can be almost impossible if we stay focused on what we see in the physical world. It requires that we move into our faith, and trust in the unseen world, knowing that what is meant to be happening is happening.

Three times in the past week I have had this message delivered to me from completely diverse sources. I am told that we are going to be facing even more distressing times. We absolutely must keep our faith, and know that we will walk through this to something much more amazing and wonderful than we have ever seen. If we can keep our thoughts focused on what we want to see in the new, more loving Universe, it will serve everyone. Each time that the physical world pulls us back into the fear, we need to choose to refocus on what is possible and the faith that that is what is emerging. Act as though that is our new reality. Trust that that is what we have to look forward to. And support each other as we move through this time–remind each other to keep the faith.
